Google for information and search for the cryptology that Julius Caeser used to encode his messages so they’d be unreadable to enemies. Real simple shit.

This isn’t difficult. This is simple addition and subtraction.

      Look at the examples: A + 1 = B, B – 1 = A

What this means is that when you add one to A, you move one to the right in the English alphabet, which would be B. If it was A + 2, the answer would be C. Now for B – 1 = A. It’s the same thing, only in the other direction. When subtract, you move the amount you subtract to the left in the English alphabet. If you run across a letter near the end of the alphabet, say Z, and the amount you add is more than what the alphabet has to move to the right, you roll over to the beginning of the alphabet and continue moving to the right (So Z + 2 = B).

Now look at the puzzle itself. The + or – symbols indicate if you’re adding or subtracting, and the numbers indicate by how much. The line connecting a letter and number indicate which letter the addition or subtraction is being operated on.

I’ll ask that ShocWave please remove my post within a day or two if it’s deemed necessary.

One of thier less good titles imo.

  13. Induction says:

After going to the link, I clicked the first/only link under I Choose You but then I just get sent to a black page and nothing happens. =/

    What am I doing wrong?

    • :/ says:

There’s actually three links underneath underneath “I Choose You:” but that’s beside the point. It might have something to do with your AdBlock settings if you have it. If not then I have no idea what you’re doing wrong. I would assume you’re clicking the “Hatsune Miku” link.

  14. Induction says:

I managed to find a workaround for it. I use a Mac but went into Windows on Parallel Desktop and the adf.ly links worked there just fine, but with all three browsers on my Mac (Safari, Chrome and Firefox) all it showed was just a blackscreen.

It turns out that Glimmerblocker was preventing adf.ly links from working, and since it was universally applied to all my browsers, that’s why they didn’t work. I’m trying to learn how to add it to excptions now though.

  15. Hyperion says:

I love you erobeat! Praise be! Innumerable thanks! May you and your descendants be blessed in this life and the next for your great work.

there appears to be a filevelocity error, i end up with this message:

    Software error:

HTML::Template::param() : attempt to set parameter ‘plans’ with an array ref – parameter is not a TMPL_LOOP! at Modules/Session.pm line 211

I have tried different browsers but the error still stands. It does work for other files from filevelocity but this file seems to cause the error in particular. Is the file itself down? Will it be uploaded on a site other than filevelocity? Regardless, I still appreciate the work erobeat. Kudos.

  17. anon says:

Oh right, follow up question. Is there a reason we have stuff on pokedex but it isn’t up as a torrent?

  18. blacksheep says:

    same filevelocity error… Q_Q

  19. psymike says:

ok since im not a fucking nerd who really likes math anyway im just a perv guy could you just link it for normal people like me?

  20. Ogodei says:

I’ve been waiting ever since this post for another episode, and just now found out that that was really the end of it

Hmf. Usually these series have endings that at least don’t come out of nowhere, even if it is a “bad end.” Disappointed.

  21. anon says:

Dude, this doesn’t use math. It uses common sense. I figured it out the first time I saw it a year ago.

Lets break if down for you.

lets say you were given the code bcde
    b is -1
the letter before ‘b’ is ‘a’
so now your code is acde1

lets say you need to add +2 to 1
its easier for numbers, 1+2 is…?

    acde3

you have to be able to get it at this point

Anyway erobeat thanks for the sub. I finally downloaded it since you uploaded it in a place other than FV

  22. NOob says:

whats the point of having a+1=b etc? you dont need it to understand.

  23. nelson says:

    download link???

  24. some1 says:

dammit i thought it was really miku
    >_< too bad i guess
